Changes to Lords proceedings
The House of Lords made changes to the way it works as a result of COVID-19. The changes ensured as many members as possible could continue to bring the knowledge and experience the House draws on to carry out its work.
Most of these changes ended in September 2021. Some of the changes adopted during the pandemic have continued. These include daily questions, now lasting 40 minutes and Private Notice Questions (House of Lords urgent questions) lasting 15 minutes. Some members with disabilities may also continue to take part in House of Lords business virtually.
