House of Commons Chamber proceedings during the COVID-19 pandemic

Temporary arrangements were in place until 22 July 2021 to enable MPs to participate remotely.

In response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, changes were made to ensure that parliamentary business in the House of Commons Chamber and Westminster Hall could take place. These changes were compliant with public health guidance relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

All MPs, whether participating physically or virtually, were required to follow guidance on the courtesies and rules of the House, such as abiding by a formal dress code.
