Get support

If you feel you have experienced, witnessed or are aware of bullying, harassment or sexual misconduct, or you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to the people and services available to you for advice, support and help.

There are a range of support options available, and you can contact the team or individual that you feel comfortable speaking to.

Parliamentary pass-holders can access further support information on the ICGS Sharepoint Hub.

Former members of the Parliamentary community who are involved in an ICGS case can access the Individual Assistance Programme (IAP) with prior agreement from the ICGS Team.

What support is available for Respondents (those being complained about)?

Respondents are encouraged to contact the Helpline to access impartial advice, support and signposting to relevant internal and external services.

This can include providing a copy of the Sexual Misconduct or Bullying & Harassment policies and contact details of the relevant HR support for their staff group; providing the details of relevant Trade Unions and the Individual Assistance Programme (IAP).

The ICGS Helpline can also signpost to external support services. Information on what to do if a formal complaint is made about you can also be found in the Respondent guide.

In cases of sexual misconduct, Independent Sexual Misconduct Advisors (ISMAs) will not be able to provide Responders with advice or support.

Support for those affected by Sexual Misconduct:

How do you support people who wish to take action externally?

If you wish to make a complaint to the Police, the ICGS Helpline, an Independent Sexual Misconduct Advisor (ISMA) can provide information and support in a variety of ways.

An ISMA can accompany you to meetings, be the main contact for updates from key professionals such as designated police officers from the Sexual Offences Investigation Team and provide information on the criminal justice system, including court visits and trial processes. They can also arrange pre-trial visits as well accompany you to court hearings.
