Collections Advisory Group

The Collections Advisory Group (CAG), formed of Members of both Houses and a variety of external collections, engagement and academic specialists, has been in place since 2022 to support access and inclusion across Parliament’s six Collections. Parliament’s Collections include: the Parliamentary Art Collection, the Historic Furniture and Decorative Arts Collection, the Architectural Fabric Collection, the Parliamentary Archives, the House of Lords Library, and the House of Commons Library.

The CAG is an advisory group representing a broad range of viewpoints and shares relevant expertise and knowledge drawn from a number of disciplines. Given the breadth of Parliament’s Collections, the advice provided by the Group helps to ensure that these significant collections are accessible to as many people as possible - and are explained, promoted, and developed in ways that are relevant to the diverse groups that Parliament serves. All decision-making powers relating to the Collections remain with the relevant Parliamentary Committees and governing bodies in both Houses, including oversight of their day-to-day management.
