Virtual Model

To see what historians think St Stephen's looked like throughout its varied history, click here to see the interactive digital models of the medieval chapel and the pre-1834 House of Commons.

These models are based on drawings, paintings, archaeology, and written records, as well as surviving fragments of the building.

You can explore the changes to the building from 1292 through to 1834, as well as read the stories of some of the people who built, used and adapted the chapel as their own.

The model also allows you to see where St Stephen's was situated within the old palace of Westminster.
