Sir Edward Francis Twining, Lord Twining of Tanganyika and of Godalming (1899-1967)

Edward Twining served for many years in various countries in the colonial administrative service, including Uganda, Mauritius and St Lucia.

He was governor of North Borneo after the Second World War in charge of reconstruction and development, and governor of Tanganyika between 1949 and 1958.
