Scribbled Book of Proceedings

The Scribbled Books of Proceedings originated during the Clerkship of Robert Bowyer who was Clerk of the Parliaments from 1609-1621. These books represent an earlier version of events in the House than the record in the Manuscript Minutes and the Journals. The Clerks that succeeded Bowyer continued the tradition throughout the 17th Century.
