Parliament online
In 1996 Parliament reported on the creation of a parliamentary website.
An Electronic Publishing Group, set up by the House authorities, recommended that Hansard along with other parliamentary documents should be available online. Parliament's website - www.parliament.uk - was launched the following year.
In 2002 a redesign of the website was launched and webcasting of Commons, Lords and committee proceedings began in streamed audio and video formats, available both live and in a searchable archive.
