Appointment of Miss H F M Court

House of Lords Appointments Book, showing appointments of three women staff: Dorothy Courtenay Hood as Clerical Assistant from 1 January 1927, and, Miss H F M Court to be Receiver of Fees and Miss M E Waterman to be Examiner of Acts from 1 February 1927. 

Hannah Frances Mary Court (known as May) had joined the House of Lords as a Lady Clerical Assistant in 1918. She became Accountant in 1919, and Receiver of Fees and head of the Accounting and Copying Department in 1926. She held this position to her retirement in 1944. She was awarded an OBE for her services to the House of Lords in 1942 and died in 1945.
