Salary of Kay Midwinter, House of Commons Clerk

Kay Midwinter was born in 1909 and appointed the first woman Clerk in the House of Commons in 1940, having previously worked for the League of Nations in Geneva. She worked for the House of Commons National Expenditure Committee until her transfer to the Foreign Office in 1943. She went on to work for the United Nations in New York and then in Geneva to her retirement in 1969. She died in 1995.
