Souvenir Programme for wedding of Princess Margaret

Princess Margaret married photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones at Westminster Abbey in May 1960. Thousands of people lined the streets to watch the wedding procession, with the service being relayed to the crowd via loud speaker. It was also the first time a Royal Wedding was televised and the service was watched by over 20 million viewers. The official souvenir programme included a detailed description of the wedding ceremony and the attendants. The programme also included photographs of the bride and groom as well as Princess Margaret's older sister, Queen Elizabeth II, and her husband, Prince Philip. In addition, there is a 6-page description of the bride's life and a 2-page description of the groom's life. This programme originally cost three shillings and six pence.
