Ceremonial Sword, 1896

A ceremonial sword which has engraved on the blade "Secretary to the Lord Great Chamberlain, 1896".  The post of Secretary to the Lord Great Chamberlain, held by the Yeoman Usher since 1896, was transferred to Black Rod in 1971.
