How to set up an alert for apprenticeship opportunities
- Once logged in to our careers portal click on your name which will be showing on the top right-hand side.
- From the drop-down list, select ‘Alert Centre.’
- To set up a new alert, click on ‘Create New Alert’ for ‘External Opportunities’
- On this page, you’ll be able to create job alerts for any roles you are interested in.
To get alerts on all new Apprenticeship programmes we recommend you create a broad alert by selecting these options when creating an alert:
- Organisation: House of Commons
- Post Type: Apprenticeship

Sometimes we’ll be looking for skills and ability in problem solving, or your ability to work under pressure and prioritise and manage deadlines.
These are just some examples and we’ll always set out the essential requirements needed in the job description.
Depending on the role, we don’t always need a qualification, and we don’t always need direct experience. For some roles, particularly at entry level, we’re looking for potential and aptitude.
