The Government publishes a number of Bills each Parliamentary session in draft form before they are introduced in Parliament as formal Bills.
Draft Building Safety Bill
The Government published a Draft Building Safety Bill on 20 July 2020.
The Housing, Communities, Local Government Select Committee undertook pre-legislative scrutiny of the Bill in October/November 2020.
Draft Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 (Repeal) Bill
The Government published a Draft Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 (Repeal) Bill on 1 December 2020.
A Joint Committee from both Houses undertook the pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Bill. The Joint Committee published its report on 24 March 2021. The Government Response was published on 12 May 2021.
