"The light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it." John 1:5. This is a verse from the bible that I have on the wall in my bedroom. It speaks of Jesus Christ as the light, the one who came into the world to bring hope and salvation from evil to any who believe. The wonderful thing about light is that when it shines anywhere, it overpowers darkness. A lot of my work in cultural transformation involves bringing the darkness to light, and encouraging people towards better behaviours. Knowing that Jesus is the light that came into the world gives me hope that it is possible to make a difference to people and to our culture. Knowing Jesus also empowers me to keep working towards better behaviours in myself so that I can influence others.
