Wendy Chamberlain MP - Shinty

"Having watched from the sidelines as my father represented his club

and country playing the Scottish amateur sport of shinty, I’ve been delighted in more recent years to take up the sport myself. I took up my caman (shinty stick) 6 years ago as part of the Aberdour Women’s Development Team alongside my then 12 year old daughter. I often wonder what my grandfather, a previous Chieftain of the Association would say, particularly as he was not supportive of women and girls playing! I have a caman on my sword ribbon in the Members’ Cloakroom for a bit of fun."
