"I am proud to be a volunteer for the Didcot Good Neighbour Scheme, a fantastic local charity which matches volunteers to elderly, vulnerable and isolated people. I first started volunteering with them in 2021 when I was matched with a brilliant 86-year-old called Merv, who sadly lost his wife in 2014 and has been on his own ever since.  Every week, I try and visit Merv to have a cup of tea and a chat about everything from football to his family to stories about his time in the army reserves.  I also make sure to lend him a hand with anything that he needs help with that week."
