Lords Science Committee to hear from Olympics Minister Hugh Robertson on plans for health legacy

The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will tomorrow hear from Hugh Robertson MP, Minister for Sports and the Olympics at the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS). This is the final evidence session of the Committee's short inquiry into building on the Olympic legacy to improve the nation's health through sports and exercise science and medicine.

The Committee will ask the Minister what work DCMS are undertaking with other departments (such as the Department of Health) to promote the sport and health agendas. The Minister will also be quizzed on the Government's £100m annual investment in high performance sport and how the Department ensure that science commissioned by bodies like UK Sport is of a high quality. The Committee will also ask the Minister about legacy plans for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The evidence session will take place at 11:00 on Tuesday 26 June in Committee Room 4 of the House of Lords.
