What will be on the box?
On Tuesday 27 November, in the sixth evidence session of their inquiry into media convergence, the Lords Communications Committee will put questions to two public services broadcasters (PSBs), the BBC and Channel 4.
The Committee will explore the challenges and opportunities brought about by convergence for PSBs. In particular, they will consider how convergence will affect the content we see on our screens, who makes that content, and how it is delivered to us, as well as ultimately, what the implications of all of this will be for the evolving regulation of PSBs and the wider media world to which they belong.
At 3.30pm, the Committee will be hearing from the following representatives of the BBC:
- John Tate, Director of Policy and Strategy; and
- James Heath, Controller of Policy.
Following on, at 4.30pm, the following witnesses from Channel 4 will appear:
- Dan Brooke, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer;
- Keith Underwood, Director of Strategy; and
- Richard Davidson-Houston, Head of Online.
The evidence session will take place at 3.30pm on Tuesday 27 November in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords and will be webcast live at www.parliamentlive.tv.
The evidence session is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
