Lords hear from Virgin Media and independent producers
On Tuesday 20 November, in the fifth evidence session of their inquiry into media convergence, the Lords Communications Committee will put questions to two representatives from the independent production sector and, following on, a representative from Virgin Media.
At 3.30pm, the Lords will question the independent producers on issues including the impact of convergence on content creation and the independent production sector in the UK.
The Committee will be hearing from:
- Jane Turton, Director of Business Development & Business Affairs and Deputy Chief Executive at All 3 Media; and
- Wil Stephens, Founder of Cube Interactive and PACT Council Member.
Having heard from BT and BSkyB last week, the Committee will then, at 4.30pm, explore the challenges and opportunities brought about by convergence for another of the major commercial providers of media and telecommunications services in the UK, when it speaks to Mr Hugo Lindsay, Director of Regulatory Affairs at Virgin Media.
The evidence session will take place at 3.30pm on Tuesday 20 November in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords and will be webcast live at www.parliamentlive.tv.
The evidence session is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
