Lords confront major proposals for media plurality reform
The Lords Communications Committee continues to confront the fundamental questions arising from Lord Justice Leveson's conclusions on media plurality on Tuesday 25 June.
At 3.30pm, the Committee will have the opportunity to question proponents of two regularly cited proposals for reform to the plurality rules:
- Chris Goodall, Enders Analysis, media sector consultants; and
- Dr Jonathan Hardy, Campaign for Press & Broadcasting Freedom.
Following on, at 4.30pm, the Committee will hear from Will Hutton, a political economist and writer who argues for “much more hawkishness” in UK media ownership regulation.
The evidence sessions will take place on Tuesday 25 June from 3.30pm in Committee Room 2.
The session will be webcast at www.parliamentlive.tv and is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
