Lords to hear about media plurality in Wales and Northern Ireland

On Tuesday 5 November, the House of Lords Communications Committee will take evidence from Professor Justin Lewis and Dr. Colm Murphy

Dr. Murphy is Head of School of Media, Film and Journalism at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland and a senior researcher at its associated Centre for Media Research. He has worked for The Sunday Times in Dublin, London and Northern Ireland and was business editor of The Sunday Tribune in Dublin.

Professor Justin Lewis is Professor of Communication at Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, and Dean of Research for their College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Both are experts on the media landscape in their respective nations, and the Committee will explore with them the major questions relating to media plurality in Northern Ireland and Wales.

The evidence session will take place on Tuesday 5 November October from 4.00 pm in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.

The session will be webcast at www.parliamentlive.tv and is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
