Lords to hear from Rt Hon Harriet Harman on media plurality
On Tuesday 15 October, the House of Lords Communications Committee will take evidence from Rt Hon Harriet Harman and Helen Goodman, MP, as well as from Professor Martin Cave
Rt Hon Harriet Harman, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (also Shadow Deputy Prime Minister), has set out a position on media plurality to the Leveson Inquiry, at the Charles Wheeler lecture earlier this year, and to the press. The Committee will put questions on these proposals both to her and Helen Goodman MP, Shadow Minister for Culture, Media and Sport, with specific responsibility for media reform.
Prior to that, the Committee will explore the demarcation lines between competition and plurality policy with competition expert, Professor Martin Cave OBE, Imperial College.
The evidence sessions will take place on Tuesday 15 October from 3.30 pm in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
The session will be webcast at www.parliamentlive.tv and is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
