Lords to quiz KPMG, EY, Deloitte and PWC on Finance Bill

The House of Lords Sub-Committee on the 2014 Finance Bill will tomorrow take evidence from accountancy firms KPMG, EY, Deloitte and PwC as their inquiry continues

The session will focus on when and why accountants advise their clients to structure their businesses as partnerships and what tax benefits this provides, what impact the proposals to change the taxation of salaried partners will have and what HMRC can do to consult more widely on tax policy changes and not rely so heavily on the input of large accountancy firms such as theirs.

Giving evidence will be:

  • Jane McCormick, Head of Tax, KPMG
  • John Dixon, UK Head of Tax, EY
  • Bill Dodwell, Head of UK Tax Policy, Deloitte
  • Kevin Nicholson, Head of Tax, PwC

The evidence session will start at 3.35 pm on Wednesday 5 February in Committee Room 3A of the House of Lords.

The session will be webcast at www.parliamentlive.tv and is also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
