Lords investigating EU-Russia relations hears from former British ambassador and former Czech president
On Monday 10 November the House of Lords EU external affairs committee will question Sir Andrew Wood, Russian expert and former British Ambassador, and Václav Klaus, former President of the Czech Republic.
The House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on External Affairs will next week turn its attention to the role of diplomacy in fostering good EU-Russian relations. Areas the Committee will cover include steps to improve the EU-Russia relationship, the alleged links between the European and Russian political elites, and how the EU and Russia should structure their relationship in the shared neighbourhood and with third countries therein.
The evidence sessions are part of a Lords inquiry into the relationship between the EU and Russia, which is expected to report in early 2015.
At 10.05am the Committee will take oral evidence from Sir Andrew Wood GCMG, Russia and Eurasia Programme, Chatham House.
Then at 11.05am the Committee will hear from Václav Klaus, former President of the Czech Republic.
The evidence sessions will start at 10.5am on Monday 10 November in Committee Room 1 of the House of Lords.
The sessions will be webcast at www.parliamentlive.tv and are also open to the public. Journalists wishing to attend should go to Parliament's Cromwell Green Entrance and should allow time for security screening.
