Lords hold first evidence session looking at Insurance Bill
The House of Lords new Special Public Bill Committee on the Insurance Bill will take evidence from Government Minister Lord Newby in its first evidence session next week.
Over two days next week, Tuesday 2 December and Wednesday 3 December, the Committee will hear from Lord Newby, the Government Minister who introduced the Bill, representatives from the UK and Scottish Law Commission who produced the Bill, the Association of British Insurers and Lloyd's Market Association.
On Tuesday 2 December, in Committee Room 3A, the Committee will take evidence from:
- Lord Newby, the Government Minister who introduced the Bill;
- David Hertzell, Law Commissioner, Law Commission; and
- Professor Hector MacQueen, Law Commissioner, Scottish Law Commission.
On Wednesday 3 December, in Committee Room 2A, evidence will be taken from:
- Philippa Handyside, Head of Legal Affairs, Association of British Insurers; and
- Kees van der Klugt, Director of Legal & Compliance, Lloyd's Market Association.
