How can we get better design in the built environment? Lords Committee to quiz design council and design network

The House of Lords Committee on the Built Environment will this week take evidence from David Tittle, Chair of the Design Network and David Waterhouse, Head of Strategic Development, Design Council CABE.

The session will focus on a range of issues concerning design and the built environment, including whether there is appropriate leadership on design at a national level, the impact of the National Planning Policy Framework on design standards and the potential impact of moving responsibility for architecture and design from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to the Department of Communities and Local Government.

The evidence session will start at 10:10am on Thursday 15 October in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
