Lords to hear from Rona Fairhead on BBC Charter and future of licence fee
The House of Lords Communications Committee will next week take evidence from Rona Fairhead, Chair of the BBC Trust, in its inquiry into the future of the BBC and the licence fee.
The Committee will also take evidence from the NUJ and Creative Skillset, the skills body for the creative industries.
The evidence sessions will start at 3:30pm on Tuesday 13 October in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords. The full witness details are:

In the first session the Committee will focus on the BBC Trust's role in holding the BBC to account against its stated public purposes, how well they feel the BBC is meeting these requirements and the recent licence fee settlement and the Trust's reaction to it.
In the second session the Committee will explore whether training and the development of creative talent should form part of the BBC's Public Purposes, whether the BBC crowds out other news providers and ask for the witnesses views on the likely impact on journalists of the recent BBC licence fee deal.
