National Crime Agency faces questions on migrant smuggling
Following a summer when the plight of migrants has never been far from the headlines, the House of Lords EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee continues its inquiry into the EU's Action Plan against migrant smuggling on Wednesday 9 September.
At 10.30am, the Committee will question Tom Dowdall, Deputy Director of Border Policing Command at the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The Committee will ask Mr Dowdall about the role the NCA will play in putting the measures foreseen in the EU Action Plan into practice. It will also explore:
- the priorities and objectives of the EU's Action Plan;
- the scale and nature of migrant smuggling in the last few years;
- the quality of the intelligence available on migrant smuggling; and
- international law enforcement cooperation.
The evidence session will take place from 10.30am, on Wednesday 9 September in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.
