Minister for Europe to answer questions on Cameron's EU reform deal

Tomorrow, Tuesday 23 February, David Lidington MP, the Minister for Europe, will be questioned by the Lords EU Committee about the EU reform agreement struck by David Cameron in Brussels.

It will be the first opportunity for a Parliamentary Committee to hear evidence from the Government since the deal was made on Friday.

Areas that the Committee will focus on will include an assessment of the European Council agreement, including the proposals for an ‘emergency brake' on in-work benefits and safeguards for non-eurozone Member States, the legally binding nature of the agreement, next steps between now and the referendum on 23 June, and how the reforms will be enacted if there is a vote to stay in the EU.

The evidence session, on Tuesday 23 February, will take place in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords at 4:05pm.
