Lords Committee to question Charity Commission

The House of Lords Select Committee on Charities, set up to investigate the sustainability of the charity sector, will hold the first evidence session of its inquiry next week.

The Committee will hear on Tuesday 5 July from Paula Sussex, Chief Executive, and Sarah Atkinson, Director of Policy and Communications, at the Charity Commission.

The Committee is exploring the sustainability of, and governance issues within, the UK charity sector.

The Charity Commission will be questioned on issues such as its role and priorities, the relationship it has with the Government, its role in advising on legislation and lobbying, and how it supports the charity sector.

The evidence session will start at 4.00pm, on Tuesday 5 July, in Committee Room 4a of the House of Lords.
