Lords to hear from NHS England on NHS long-term future
The House of Lords Committee on the Long-term Sustainability of the NHS will next week take evidence from NHS England and leading health think tanks as it continues its inquiry
The evidence sessions will start at 10:05am on Tuesday 19 July in Committee Room 1 of the House of Lords. The witnesses will be:

- Richard Gleave, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, Public Health England
- Bob Alexander, Executive Director of Resources and Deputy Chief Executive, NHS Improvement
In the first session the Committee will ask the witnesses what changes are needed to make the NHS sustainable in the next 15-20 years, how the NHS workforce will need to adapt and how staff can be retained and how health and social care can be properly integrated.
In the second session with NHS England, Public Health England and NHS Improvement, the Committee will quiz the officials on what thinking their organisations have done on long-term sustainability, how they are planning for the future NHS workforce and their long-term strategies for public health prevention.
