Lords to investigate EU plans to reform asylum system

The House of Lords EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee will concentrate its investigation on the plans to overhaul the Dublin Regulation, which defines the rules for determining which Member States have responsibility for new asylum applicants.   

Giving evidence to the Committee at 10.30am on Wednesday 15 June will be Mr Vincenzo Scarpetta, Policy Analyst, Open Europe and Ms Helen-Marie Fraher, Senior Protection Associate, at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Then at 11.20am the witnesses will be will be Dr Violeta Moreno-Lax, Director LLM in Immigration Law, at Queen Mary University of London, and Professor Steve Peers, Professor of Law, University of Essex.

The evidence sessions will take place from 10.30am, on Wednesday 15 June in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.
