Lords EU Committee reopens inquiry on international development cooperation after Brexit

The inquiry is exploring how the UK might continue to cooperate with the EU after Brexit, how this could work in practice, and what impact Brexit would have on the delivery of UK and EU aid.

The questions the Committee is seeking answers to include:

• Why should the UK and the EU cooperate after Brexit?
• In which thematic or geographic areas should the UK seek to cooperate with the EU after Brexit?
• How could this work in practice?
• What does the EU's proposed new Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) mean for future UK participation in or cooperation with EU development instruments?
• What impact could the new NDICI have on recipient countries and the delivery of aid there?
• What impact do you expect Brexit to have on UK NGOs and their eligibility for EU development funding?
• What impact on resources, financial and human, will Brexit have on DFID, the FCO, and other departments?
