How ready are we for post-Brexit UK-EU transport arrangements? Lords keep questioning


The House of Lords EU Internal Market Sub-Committee will hear from Jesse Norman MP, Minister of State for Department for Transport, at an evidence session on Wednesday 13 March, as it continues to investigate how leaving the UK will impact UK-EU road transport. 

Jesse Norman MP will be speaking to the Committee at 3pm. Questions are likely to focus on:

  • Immediate matters relating to the borders, including the progress of ‘Project Brock'
  • Alternatives to the short strait routes across the Channel
  • Awareness of theneed for international driving permits
  • The progress of Brexit-related DfT Statutory Instruments
  • Contingency measures
  • The bilateral road haulage agreements with EU Members States
  • Implication of bilateral agreements on the UK's wider rail industry
  • Overland transport on the island of Ireland
  • Industry engagement 

The session will take place in Committee Room 4A of the House of Lords.
