Lords EU Committee to take evidence in Belfast from transport providers
The House of Lords EU Committee will tomorrow hold public evidence sessions at Stormont with transport industry leaders as it explores how the Ireland/Northern Ireland Protocol will impact Northern Ireland and its place in the UK wide single market
The Committee will also hear evidence from leading academics from Queen's University Belfast.
The Committee will take evidence from 2pm in the Room 30, Parliament Buildings, Stormont. Giving evidence to the Committee will be:

In the first session questions will focus on the opportunities and challenges the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland will present for transport providers including possible requirements for customs, VAT and regulatory checks, concerns about access to the UK's internal market for businesses in Northern Ireland and how transport providers will try to engage with the UK-EU Joint Committee during the transition period.
The second session will focus on areas of the Protocol that require greater clarity, and how the UK Parliament and Northern Ireland Assembly can cooperate to scrutinise the operation of the Protocol.
