Monday 26 October 2020

On Tuesday 27 October 2020 the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee will be taking evidence from two panels of witnesses.

  • How has the crisis exacerbated regional inequality across the UK, and inequalities within Greater Manchester and Liverpool?
  • How can the Government’s disparate skills and training policies – for instance, lifelong learning, apprenticeships, and employment support – be better aligned to aid a sustainable recovery?

  • How has the way that the Government has announced new restrictions, and economic support packages, affected your ability to plan?
  • How helpful were the COVID-19 loan schemes that the Government offered to businesses?
  • How much support and guidance have you had from local government? What action or type of support from Government would make the most difference in protecting your business and the jobs of those that you employ?
