Lords Economic Affairs Committee response to the Commons Health and Social Care Committee’s new social care report
Responding to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee’s new report, Social Care: Funding and Workforce, Lord Forsyth of Drumlean, Chair of the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee, said:
“This report reiterates many of the conclusions of the cross-party Economic Affairs Committee’s social care report published last year. Our report also called for an immediate multi-billion pound funding increase to the sector to restore the quality of and access to adult social care to acceptable levels.
“Furthermore, our report also recommended that social care workers urgently need much better pay and parity with NHS staff.”
