Peers to hear people’s experiences of using public services during lockdown

People from across Britain will tell peers tomorrow (Wednesday 16 September, from 3 p.m.) about their experiences using vital public services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The House of Lords Public Services Committee, which is looking into how COVID-19 has affected public services and lessons to be learned from the lockdown, will take evidence tomorrow from:
- older people who use a range of public services;
- people with complex health and care conditions;
- people who use mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and justice services; and
- social workers who work with vulnerable children.
The committee will explore with witnesses how public services could be improved to better meet their needs in the future.
The virtual session will be live on Parliament TV.
The committee is due to publish its report in the coming weeks.
