Lords Conduct Committee publishes report into the conduct of Lord Mann

Monday 2 August 2021

The House of Lords Conduct Committee has published a report clearing Lord Mann of bullying following a complaint made by a member of the public.

The complainant alleged that Lord Mann had bullied them by writing to the Chief Executive of a professional body of which they were a member accusing them of antisemitism. The accusations related to comments the complainant had made in an online conversation in a professional forum about the Israel/Palestine conflict. In his response to the allegation Lord Mann denied accusing the complainant of antisemitism.

The Committee upheld the findings of the independent House of Lords Commissioner for Standards, noting that although Lord Mann’s behaviour was ‘ill-considered’ it did not constitute bullying.

The Committee made the finding in response to an appeal from the complainant against the Commissioner for Standards’ original report clearing Lord Mann.

The full report is available online.
