Peers to hear from community and faith groups on climate action
Monday 6 December 2021
What motivates people to get involved in activity to combat climate change and protect the environment?
That is one of the likely questions when the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee hears from community groups and faith organisations tomorrow (Tuesday 7 December from 10.00am) as it continues its inquiry into behaviour change.
The committee will hear from:
At 10.00am
- Rob Hopkins, Co-founder, Transition Town Totnes and Transition Network
- Pam Warhurst CBE, Founder, Incredible Edible
- Shanon Shah, Director, Faith for the Climate
At 11.00am
- Sally Copley, Executive Director for External Affair, Sustrans
- Fiona Richards, Operations Director England, The Conservation Volunteers
- Ugo Vallauri, Co-founder and Policy Lead, The Restart Project
- Gareth Ellis, Project Director, The Green Valleys
Other possible questions include:
- What are the challenges faced in developing civil society behaviour change activity on climate change and the environment?
- How could the government work better with civil society to enable behaviour change?
- How could government policies support civil society activities?
The session will be live on Parliament TV.
