Does sport change lives? Lords Committee to ask experts about the role of sport in rehabilitation and social change

The House of Lords Committee on a National Plan for Sport and Recreation will tomorrow take evidence from the Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice, The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain, StreetGames, Fight4Change and the Sport for Development Coalition as it explores the role of sport in supporting social change.
The Committee will take evidence over two sessions starting at 3:30pm on Wednesday 24 February. The sessions will be held remotely and can be followed online at www.parliamentlive.tv

The sessions will cover a range of issues including how the effectiveness of ‘sport for development’ programmes are measured and how they differ from other sports offerings available in deprived areas, how sport and recreation can be used in rehabilitation and crime prevention programmes, and what barriers exist for using sport for social and behavioural change.
