Biodiversity: Environment Secretary to be quizzed by peers
Monday 5 July 2021
Environment Secretary George Eustice will be questioned by the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee tomorrow (Tuesday 6 July at 10.45 a.m.) as it continues its scrutiny of the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP 15) to be hosted by China later this year.
The committee will ask the Secretary of State about his priorities for COP15 and about how confident he is of an effective agreement at the international conference.
Peers are likely to ask also if the government plans further announcements on international funding for biodiversity and whether he thinks that other developed countries’ funding commitments are enough.
The session will be live on Parliament TV.
