Vulnerable children: Met and Kent police tackling ‘county lines’ and abuse to meet peers
Wednesday 21 July 2021
How could the Home Office support police on the front line better to protect vulnerable children?
That is one of the likely questions when senior officers from the Metropolitan and Kent police forces give evidence to the House of Lords Public Services Committee tomorrow (Thursday 22 July at 11.00 a.m.) as it continues its inquiry into vulnerable children and public services.
The committee will hear from:
- Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Jones, ‘county lines’ and gangs specialist, Metropolitan Police
- Detective Inspector Chris Rabey, child victim of abuse specialist, Kent Police
Other likely questions include:
- How many children are involved in ‘county lines’ and why are their numbers increasing?
- How do you work with schools, social services and the NHS in your work on ‘county lines’, gangs and child victims of abuse, and what are the main barriers to collaboration?
The session will be live on Parliament TV.
