Biodiversity: RSPB, Unilever, World Economic Forum, IISD think tank to tell peers of UN conference hopes

The new House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee will continue its inquiry into the forthcoming UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 15) tomorrow (Tuesday 22 June at 10.00 a.m.) when it hears from:

  • Georgina Chandler, Senior International Policy Officer, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
  • Akanksha Khatri, Head of Nature and Biodiversity, World Economic Forum
  • Elsa Tsioumani, Editor, Earth Negotiations Bulletin, International Institute for Sustainable Development
  • Melissa Miners, Global Sustainability Senior Manager, Unilever

The committee will explore with the witnesses what they hope and expect can be achieved at COP15 and what changes to the UK Government’s position on COP15 and related policies could be made to reach an effective outcome.
