Vulnerable children: Police chief and head teachers’ leader give evidence to Lords committee

National police and head teachers’ leaders will be questioned by the House of Lords Public Services Committee tomorrow (Thursday 27 May from 10.00 a.m.) as it continues its inquiry into vulnerable children and public services.

Likely questions and areas of discussion include:
- What is the role of schools and police in supporting early intervention and prevention for children at risk of harm, neglect or exploitation but who are outside the social care system?
- How large is the gap between the provision of support and the number of children at risk?
- Has the number of such children and the severity of risk changed during the pandemic?
