Lords to publish follow-up report on Government’s implementation of the Equality Act

6 September 2021

The House of Lords Liaison Committee will this week publish a follow-up report to the 2016 report by the Equality Act 2010 and Disability Committee.

The report comes after the Government published its National Disability Strategy in July.

In the follow-up report the Committee will assess how far the Government has responded to key recommendations it made in its original report in 2016. These included ensuring access requirements for areas such as public transport and sports stadiums that were already enshrined in legislation were enforced, and ensuring public bodies applied the Public Sector Equality Duty effectively.

The report will be published on Thursday 9 September.

Embargoed copies will be available to media in advance of publication. To request an embargoed copy of the report please email williamso@parliament.uk
