Government Chief Scientific Advisers to give views on the UK science and technology strategy

On Tuesday 5 April, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will continue to take evidence from Government witnesses as part of its ongoing inquiry: Delivering a UK science and technology strategy

The Committee will talk to the Chief Scientific Advisers at DEFRA, BEIS, MoD and DHSC to find out how the research and development priorities, and the role of Chief Scientific Adviser, differ across government departments.

The public evidence session will take place at 10.15am (GMT) on Tuesday 5 April 2022 and can be viewed live on Parliament TV.

  • Professor Dame Angela Mclean, Chief Scientific Adviser, Ministry of Defence
  • Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser, Department of Health and Social Care

  • Relationships across Government including between departments and UK Research and Innovation, and between departments themselves
  • The use of public procurement to support research and development
