Lords to hear from podcast host Al Coates MBE and family law experts on challenges facing the adoption system

On Monday 4 April the House of Lords Select Committee on the Children and Families Act 2014 will continue its inquiry examining whether the Children and Families Act 2014 is fit for purpose.
The Committee will hear from witnesses with direct experience of the adoption system.
In the first session the Committee will hear from Naomi Angell head of the adoption, surrogacy and fertility law unit at Osbornes Law; and Al Coates MBE, adoptive parent and founder of the Adoption and Fostering Podcast.
The Committee will also hear from Professor Judith Masson from the University of Bristol and Dr Julie Doughty, Senior Lecturer in Law, at Cardiff University about the impact of the reforms to the family justice system, with a focus on public family law.
The public evidence session will take place at 3.15pm (GMT) on Monday 4 April 2022 and can be viewed live on Parliament TV.
