Russia’s potential accession to Convention on Marine Aids to Navigation raises issues of public policy, says Lords Committee
Friday 8 April 2022
The House of Lords International Agreements Committee has today published a report on the Convention on Marine Aids to Navigation.
The committee reports the Agreement to the special attention of the House of Lords due to Russia’s potential accession to the Convention, which gives rise to issues of public policy.
The report highlights that Russia’s signature on the convention raises wider questions over its continued participation in international organisations and the UK Government’s position on this matter. The committee is therefore calling on the Government to set out its policy towards the ongoing participation of Russia in international organisations.
The full report is available to read on the committee’s website.
